I just like to hoard stuff...every summer I get into something and go way overboard. Cars, motorcycles, bicycles, paintball, gun...whatever.

The older K2's weren't gaudy red and didn't have varsity sock shit on them. I hope that helped

the il capos have 3 color schemes: black and orange, teal and white, that new neon green color.

and no that is not the best k2 mod ever seen.

lazy ass kept the stock souls glued to the bottom. you get a stupid quarter inch gap rise from the stock souls sitting ontop of the carbon souls.

homie should have put the work in, removed the stock souls, cut them in half which would have allowed for a better fit between the boot and the carbon souls

I'm going to try them as is for awhile. I will mod them eventually tho.

Got the 250cc's today and have drawn a conclusion.

                          250cc > backyard bobs > 11' fatty pros.

Skated around town today with the 250s flat rockered and I forgot how amazing skating flat is.

                            yes.

the 250'ss, naturals, style points are the best style K2 IMO as well

Billy- is there anyway to change these metal pieces without mangling the skate?

I probably will, but I have spare parts and I can use a needle.

its not the fact that you can sew or even have it done.. its that the part works and it is there.. im prety sure you can use two needle nose pliers to remove them but putting new ones on and keeping the shape may be tricky.....if you unstich anything on the skates it may not be "undo-able"

my work computer blocks images most images.

i will take a look when i get home tonight to see what you are talking about. However if it involves unstitching anything on the boot then i'm probably gonna suggest to not do it.

Good news is the straps were not stitched, or glued into the boot. So I was able to swap them with some simple hand sewing.

Replaced the rusty parts and added razor cuff bolts. Now I need some old school antis for them.

you may need some lock tight. i've found that the razor bolts naturally come lose over time in the k2's.

                                            define old school anti's

If k2 re-release the nemesis style skates ,they would rule the aggressive market...i dont know why they dont do it...they have the molds and they can increase the k2 aggresive skates sales ,also alot of new customers and old timers will turn to k2...

                                              Comment

nemesis skates were very heavy and very bulky (why they were never largely popular to begin with). Don't get me wrong my nemesis skates were super comfy and i rode the hell out of them for 2 years but as far as manuverability goes... not so much. back savs in nemesis skates feels awful bro.

the 250cc style boot IMO is the best style boot the company ever made. Update it to UFS and put a soul on it similar to the carbon soul stock and you'd be in business.

Lightest skate on the market with a 3rd of the cost of carbon skates.

Yet again the company would have to make other major changes (better buckles, cuffs, go back to using the old heel strap, actually make replaceable parts) to ever really stand a chance in the market

Oldschooler here, had the Backyards when they came out, then Style Points, then switched up to the Salomon ST8s. I stopped skating in about 2000/1(regret)

                                                        Fast forward:
I found a new(tags still attached) pair of original Fattys at my local goodwill last year for $7 and had to swoop em, started skating em this year and quickly realized I needed something with a little more soul & negative space if I'm going to hang with these youngsters haha.

My Fattys are 11 and fit great though I wear a 12 shoe because wide feet, I got a pair of the Nemesis in 11 and they pinch my foot which leads to cramping if worn too long. I'm considering some Style Points again or 250cc and am wondering if they will be closer to the fit of the Fatty or the Nemesis?

Thank you Fast Eddie for the awesome k2 breakdown/timeline!

                                                                  Boxcars (Rollerblade)

                                                                  came back 2004 0r 05
                                                                  DK4 pink and black (Deshi)

I fell in love with K2's, the Backyards had NO backslide plate when I rocked them but had a stickyish rubber that over time became fast if you slid down enough rails. That K2 toe is on point tho.

Dirks were not my cup but were awesome for learning fast royales and farfigs... anyway I went back to K2. This time they had that backslide plate that was sweet, the cuff rivet broke quick and I ended up just ratcheting it for upper stability with no ankle support. I progressed alot with these. I wore these fairly long.

King 55's were exactly how I wanted a skate to be, the internal cuff was amazing and groundbreaking - I mastered my game with these. With the velcro upper strap (instead of the usual ratchet clamp) and bendable cuff it was nice for getting low and stylie grinds. I wore these till the soul and h-block were completely disintegrated. It was a beautiful skate ahead of it's time. I still have no idea why K2 hasn't done another one like this with the same design, maybe they have- I've been gone for 10 years now coming back. All the skates were going the same direction when I left the scene, nothing could compare to feel of K55's, they spoiled me somthin' fierce.

However, the soul and frame were one piece and grooving a K2 would take a lot of time back in the day. That, and King 55 didn't have replacement pieces for long, by the time I needed it they were non-existent. Many people would not even know what skate I was wearing. Style Point Bobs saturated the market as the more popular K2 skate at the time until Bing Air came out.

When I came back Deshi had the closest skate to what I loved to ride, and now they're gone.

I would buy K2's if they did a similar one to the King 55. They were an unbelievably versatile skate. The reason why I'm here is because I was currently looking for a pair of King 55's on google and came upon this thread.

                                                                  Comment

                                                                      Thanks. I'm a size 8 to 9ish and I'm 30 so I think i wouldn't be able to grow into them

Do you know if there are any other K2 or other model brand that is closer to this style of skate as opposed to the regular cuff action?

                                                                      Thanks!

                                                                      Comment

The king 55 was the only K2 aggressive skate with an internal cuff, but I know that there was a K2 roller hockey skate for goalies released in 1997 or 1998 that was almost identical, without the tongue and they had the word "Goalie" embroidered on the back of each skate. I found a posting on Craigslist 2 years ago and would have bought then but they were a size 7. That was the only time I've ever seen them, and I have tried a few times to find another photo, but nothing yet.

                                                                        Comment

Would somebdoy be able to compare the weight of the Nemesis/Lennen era K2s to something I may have held.

My hunch is that they would be in the region of a TRS, or a little heavier than a classic throne.

                                                                          Thank you.

                                                                            legacy skates perhaps
