Why were the Xjsjado 2.0 not more popular?

Issues of the team/image aside, how were the skates? They looked like everything everyone wanted from the 2.0.

I much preferred the 1.0, or the 1.5 (old cuff, new souls). Even consider going back to that setup now. The 2.0 cuff wasn't for me but I know some people preferred it. Hard to say why they weren't more popular. They added more parts that were prone to breaking and maybe everyone got sick of that. Now with 'Shadow' they're doing the same thing again by adding liners, which defeats the object of the original concept altogether. Now it's under the USD banner though it'd be interesting to see if some of the team skates them when they come out. Would love to see Eugen put out a section in them which I'm sure he will do. I remember having a conversation with Richie at Winterclash about how he enjoyed skating Xsjados when he wasn't being filmed so maybe he'll try them out too.

I had only tried Xsjado with the 2.0 Cuff...never experienced the 1.0. But the lateral flex for the 2.0 cuff was just not there for me (for my preference of how a skate should feel). I never felt like I could get the fit right. I will also say I don't think I spent enough time playing with the options on how customizable they were. These days I just want something that works, simple and comfy. All the "Options" get to be a bit much sometimes.

-It took several years for the "leaked" hinged cuff to release -Boots were initially overpriced -Some hated the cuff, others quickly broke it -Valo and Carbons became cool: definitely not Xsjados -Mfg quality continued to decline -No efforts by Powerslide to propagandize otherwise; it was selling as a summer ski boot and then got DOOPed

V13 killed it more or less.

Stockwell left around the time of the 2.0 launch right? They needed SK to fill the gap, but any hype not deflated by rumors he was departing the team were sqashed when he was seen riding V13’s in KCMO.

Piss poor managing and little to no marketing killed the team. The 2.0 cuff was just a terrible idea of pandering to people who never skated xsjados because they weren't traditional. I think the only people who rode the 2.0 cuff had to.
sig. . . what sig? you should know what skating looks like by now, right?

              I liked the 2.0 cuff.

I enjoyed that they were a smidge lower

lack of quality. Straps, cuffs and 1000 of parts which were made very poor. Sometimes customers broke the skates while trying them on at the shop , it was so ridiculous. People who skated them here had ALWAYS extra parts with them as it was almost impossible to film a few clips on streets without breaking them (usually lower cuffs and these straps & buckles). another huge problem was footwrap sizing. EVERY single model had different fit, but to make it even more complicated the skates had different size tags on the box and different ones on the parts itself (on the box said shells are S,M, L, XL while in the parts itself they were marked as XS,S, M, L) it confused a lot of people and shops - and you know how it is if you got dissapointed with sth once you usually not coming back to it.

Around what time was this drastic decline in quality in xsjado products? when did the 2.0 actually came out, 2012? i got a dustin werbeski pro skate (2014) lately for pretty cheap... i pretty much use them to cruise around with my kids and like the fact i can use them with shoes... they have the "original" cuff, which suited me better than the 2.0 (too much forwardflex for my taste)... i find them pretty comfy, but the quality of the straps, etc. make me wonder if they would even last a few bowl sessions!?!? i would really like to do so, but i would be pissed if they fall apart that easily... in my local shop they have some schwabs in my size for a cheap prize and i thought i could get them and put an original cuff on them for streetskating and bowls, but i wonder if that is a good idea, reading skates fell apart while people trying them on! i also noticed that the xsjado farewell footwraps not even have that special edge in the back to prevent heel lift/lock into the cuff. it's a shame that powerslide didn't even care to keep the quality at least acceptable for the last one! it would be interesting to know, how many xsjados farm went through in the last few years riding for them if the quality is that bad!

The needing spare parts is an easy cop out. Unless it is your first time owning (insert skate) you’ll have a collection of extras. Bolts get loose, sole and frames crack, laces tear.

So bad. These can’t be worn with regular shoes since they are missing that extra front padding? Even as a USD fan girl I won’t be buying these unless I can wear some skateboard shoes while riding these. Wasn’t that the point of these to piss off skateboarders seeing us strap these on with vans and emericas. Is vegan a rollerblading thing now? If so lmfao rollerblading just got Gaeher

2.0s just had too much forward fucking flex. Nothing like skating a ledge for over a decade and having to relearning how to jump! The footwrap sizing and part sizing was the killer for sure though. I skated xjados for years and the best take away was (and is) the 1.0 cuffs with 2.0 souls. Less pieces to replace and better shape overall. I want to give the new "liner" and cuff/buckle a shot as it seems like it's a step in the right direction of simplification, really hoping that's a boot only option.

I'm only concerned with lateral flex as the "liner" isn't connected with the shell anymore, might be wonky :-/
