    not sleeping enough FTL

idk how alot of people do this shit. i slept a little under 5 hours last night and i feel like shit today. i hate the people that sleep 4 hours and feel great, im so used to at least 7, 8 on a good night, this shit is killing me, and i can only drink so much caffeine so fast.

so how many hours of sleep cuts it for jew?

I have to have at least 8 hours of sleep.

You have to slowly work your way down. You can't just cut your sleep from 7-8 to 5 and not feel adverse effects. It also helps if you time your sleep so that it coincides with REM sleep cycles, that's how you can sleep like 6 hours and come out from a REM cycle and feel better than say sleeping 10 hours and you are disturbed in the middle of a REM cycle.

yea 8-9 is ideal for me, but not always possible. on the weekends im always getting like 9, and i feel so much better during the day, it just sucks wasting so much time sleeping.

I'm running on 4 hours of sleep at the moment, stayed out skating way too long. I'm just hanging out in the office drinking coffee to wake myself up, almost there haha.

I rarely get enough sleep, I've just gotten used to it.

My sleep has been fucking weird lately.

The last three nights went, 10 hours, 12 hours, then 5 hours.

And these were all just natural waking up, not to an alarm.

Also, I feel way better today pm 5 hours than when I slept for half a day.

To be completely rested I need to sleep 8 hours or more. If I sleep for more than 10 hours I have trouble getting up, however. I used to think I needed to have at the very least 3 hours of sleep to function, but spending a month in surgery has taught that you can actually get by just fine with none (I crash hard afterwards, though)

Also, I don't use my alarm clock anymore. After much routine I now wake up every single morning at 8am on the dot, at least the dot of my clock. At that point I have a choice to get up if I need to, or go back to sleep.

I use my phone on those weird times when I have to get up at say 6 or 7, but otherwise, no worries.

I have silent sleep apnea and have to sleep with a cpap and mask. It freaking sucks and I'm still not used to it but on the few nights I make it for a couple hours with the mask on I feel amazing!

Going from sleeping 8-9 hours and still being tired when you wake up to sleeping 3 hours and fell like I'm a different person with the energy of fifteen 9-year-old ADHD kids of their meds is life changing.

I am about sleeping 10 hours everyday. I love to sleep and rest. I can function perfectly fine on less, though. I just don't think about it.
