Did I ever tell you kids about how I used to rollerblade? Like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed grind plates for my skates , so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I hung a wheel on my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an wheel on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white wheels because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

This place had a much more 'Reddity' vibe back in the day. Now a days every local scene has a facebook group to talk/organize sessions and there are so many instagram pages posting dope videos all day every day. Society has changed in how they want to consume digital content i dont even know how rollerblading specific this is, because many other groups are in the same situation

    EDIT:
My Big L sig isnt showing up

    This. This fits the criteria.

Also, pretty much dead on how how much I really do enjoy blade gossip, as long as it's true; but spreading maliciousness is not the one...

This is extremely ironic coming from you. What is the crtieria for “gossiping like high schoolers” versus just ordinary rollerblade gossip? Is it just when it’s about someone you like?

Joe is extremely talented and deserves more money for sure, but so does just about everyone at that level. Who is bitter about Joe leaving? I know Roces isn’t and it basically just opened up a Pro spot on the team so I don’t think anyone on the AM team really is either. I don’t think anyone was arguing that Joe should have stayed on the team if he wasn’t going to get what he wanted?

    It's truthful.

Roces has a weird dramatic internal culture, and it starts at the top, pushing buzzwords like family and loyalty, which are really just terms to get these guys to accept things that are against their interests. It's disconcerting seeing guys like you, Stephan, and Martin talking shit about another mans business like gossiping high-schoolers. At this point, after all we've heard, does anyone expect anything else from Roces. Of course these guys no one's really paid any attention for a couple years to are gonna be a bit bitter when the biggest name pro in the industry bails on something they're all super hyped on, but that's just business. What works for someone, doesn't work for everyone...

    to quote a google answer:

”The business difference is that GoFundMe supports one-time donations versus Patreon supports subscription (recurring) donations.

On Patreon, a supporter "pledges" a dollar amount to a creator, and this dollar amount is donated on a recurring basis. The creator chooses whether to be paid per creation they post, or per month. The creator may set monetary goals, but this will not affect whether they receive the money at the end of the month. You can say that people are theoretically able to receive lifetime support on Patreon, rather than raising money once with one campaign.

On GoFundMe, a supporter donates a dollar amount to the person/organization/project, and that is the end of the monetary commitment on part of the donator. The fundraiser does not need to set a monetary goal and can continue indefinitely, although there is an option for "all or nothing". The entity receiving the donation gets to keep the money whether or not they reach a monetary goal, which sets GoFundMe apart from Kickstarter. (Indiegogo has this option in their model as well — with Forever Funding, an Indiegogo campaign allows someone to receive money via an unending campaign.)

Philosophically, Patreon was made to support creation. The people who are creators on Patreon range from musicians, comic artists, bloggers, gamers, journalists, vloggers, personalities, and so on. Other crowdfunding sites in general have been supporting a singular cause or project, whereas Patreon aims to support the growth of a creative individual or group.”

GoFundMe is a one time source of income, Patreon is a monthly income. Patreon allows people to “subscribe” to you and get unique rewards for doing so, like setting up a monthly Q&A or whatever you want. I’m sure you could do something similar on GFM, but Patreon is built for it.

Why is a Patreon more suited to what he's looking to do? I don't think I understand the difference between the two.

I had messaged him saying that a Patreon would be much more fitting for what he’s looking to do. Having a monthly income from “subscribers” that he can budget and be a skater who is literally sponsored by the community. But, it’s rollerblading and it took rollerbladers until 2016 to figure out how to utilize YouTube.

I think irony and black humor has to be. And when we look around in social platforms and what's going on... Be-mag was always the place to create godmemes (free speach). Now It's mature and yes about time and (kind of) good work.

But I can dance dance dance
