    footy from ocala

All the clips I've accumulated over the past few months. I do a lot of souls/topsouls but that's only because I wanna get super comfortable locking into my soul plates. What you guys think? sponsor? flow? Any criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Nice skating man, esp the true makio and the 540s.

I've been skating for 20 years and used to want to get in Daily Bread or any major skate video like, really badly. I was also hanging out with the Roces team enough 2004-5 to be getting clips with them and started asking the team manager about flow. That didn't end up working out, and when the team video came out I watched and realized they didn't use any of my clips, much to my frustration. The point of this story is that being frustrated by not getting what you're hoping for can ruin the whole experience if you let it, and it also seems that being flow/am is getting to be less and less of the glory that people build it up to be. Even 'pros' are often not getting much if anything in terms of salary.

Filming with your buddies should be relaxed and fun and something you do for the memories and perhaps also to self critique when you see a clip that didn't come out the way you thought it would. Enjoy it! Ambition about sponsorship does nothing good for your mindset as a skater.

Also! Great to see some Ocala dudes out shredding. Just when you think things are dying I see an edit like this or a facebook thread talking about a crew in Port St Lucie or go to a Lakeland sesh with a bunch of kids I've never met out there doing their thing... it's nice. Looks like you've got a couple spots to skate and a buddy or two to go out and film with, and asking anything more from skating can be a pretty futile exercise.

Thanks man I get what you're saying. I'm going to Gainesville tomorrow so I might throw up some clips just for the hell of it!

If you're having fun and killing it, people will start to notice, and when people notice, potential sponsors notice. Skate a lot, travel to comps and big sessions... have fun!

Ocala, FL? I went there every summer to visit my grandparents for years while in school, never thought they had a blade scene. Good tricks and nice to see you got some buddies. Oh yea, just blade with the homies for fun. Expecting or wanting anything more is silly
