How do you like your Rode? I've got an Azden mic right now but I don't really like it and am thinking about upgrading.

Wacom A4 Intuis 4 (or something like that) in the retouching department.

I still dont have a tripod or a hotshoe flash so I'll probably get those next after my Peli 1740. Peli 1740 will hopefully allow me to get all my studio flash gear into one case (minus softboxes & Vagabond IIs (vag IIs Im selling/binning)). To me it isnt too excessive, I have a lens that covers nearly every focal length from 17-200mm and my new "cover all" lenses are the 17-40 & 70-200 for faster paced shooting. Studio gear is AB so it's fairly cheap in the grand scheme of things, you can do a lot with 3 lights; sometimes wish I had a few more but 3 lights work 80% of the time.

I just never want to blame my shortcomings on gear so I make sure Im covered in that department so I can just blame myself instead haha.

P.s. This thread should be stickied.

Everything is a bit outdated now, but I rarely shoot with my own gear anymore. Probably picking up a used 5dmkII soon for little personal gigs.

I've also added a monitor and a litepanel, which i use with other cameras as well.

In terms of photo, I have

Picking up a King Pelican 1600 case tomorrow, brand new with foam...for $85

Buying it from a cop, he said he doesn't have enough gear to justify using it, just a t2i, 28-120mm lens and a dinky flash.

                                        Saving myself $75+ and I really need this case because I'm getting a second D300, a 35mm f/1.8 DX and an SB800.

After having my camera bag on my front seat and having to slam on the brakes last week, sending my gear flying to the floor, I thought it was time to take precautions

                                              Inspired by eddie.

The black section on the bottom left is one of the extra insert bits that i use to "encase" a bunch of spare batteries, light meter, mem cards case etc...I gonna get the organizer you can get for the lid part to replace the foam and store all my stuff in there instead.

Peli 1510 case from above image on the bottom right, above that is box of studio lights, above that is cables, flash batteries etc. etc. On the left is for softboxes, lightstands, backdrop support system etc. Top left is tool box, softbox grids and shit.

Paper backdrops hiding around the side, this one is about 3 deep...I store 2.7m paper backdrops in the garage.

Lulz, the case is actually so I can transport dead hookers without them stinking up my car if it heats up on the drive to the ocean.

(Srsly I can fit 3 strobe heads, 3 lithium battery packs, cables, 3 light stands, 1 tripod, grids, Chargers, softbox grids, umbrellas, reflectors, etc etc. all in this bad boy.....life just became 10x easier...only 1 trip to the car instead of 2-3 and I can now in theory fly with my gear )

We use a hard plastic golf bag transport case with wheels for our lighting equipment. The Pelican 1700 isn't as expensive as I thought, only about $150-175.

                                                              Nice.

I took off the thumb screw shit and readjusted it so it only has to turn about 45 degrees to give enough to let the plate off. It just isn't meant to be in such a tight space. For a while I had the plate mounted sideways flush to the back of the glidecam so I could twist it as much as needed, but moved it back a couple days ago because the balance was always funky.

There's also a Sigma 70-200 with IS that's supposed to be really good and that sells new for 1300, and I really like my other Sigma lenses, so that's an option too.

For right now it's a moot point, as I just won a Gini rig and follow-focus on eBay last night and that blew the gear budget for a while...
