Need some help taking my editing to the next level...

Well I know how to slo-mo, but I need help putting that film burn effect between most of my clips and with color correcting my footage so everything has that hazy gold and silver look to it. I know I can film into the sun when I'm shooting pigeons and dramatic shots of my friend's skates, but I want to get that effect for all my clips even when I can't film into the sun. I think I need one of those stedi-cam follow things too because I've really been wanting that effect that kinda blurs the edges with extra distortion whenever I move the camera and gives viewers a headache.

    Any help is appreciated

This looks way easier than just holding your camera.

            BRO

once you put a dubstep/popular rap song into the timeline, film burn occurs without any problems

I hope this is a joke.

So if you want to give your viewers a headache, I recommend going without the steadicam, and shooting everything handheld with a long lens. And if you really want the effect, run next to the skater instead of rolling alongside.

In terms of film burns, the more the merrier. If you can overlay 6 or 7 film burns at the same time it will look way cooler and more professional-looking. And more like film. To get the glowing effect you're just going to have to shoot into the sun every time you skate. So get used to skating only during sunset.

              Hope this is helpful.

And if this isn't a joke, i wish you the best.

get a polarized filter for your cam, pop the blues on that beach you live by, get a decent mic, go to editing and film msg boards....

who needs a polarizer for that, how do I even attach that thing to my fisheye, I'll just bump up the saturation in premiere

first of all you need to start with a skrillex song
second of all HD is over rated.

vx1000 mk1 FTMFW all day long son.

get that scummy look going. then steal 5 minutes of footage from black and white horror films. just turn the opacity down the 85% and lay it over your entire edit.

new hot deal: use Twixtor all the time!! make sure to film in 25p, who needs 50p for slow mo!

don't forget to put a pile of dog crap right in front of your camera so that everyone knows your DOF

"Do you feel that Randy? The way the shit clings to the air? Shit blizzard."

This is a good thread. I just got a shitty camera, but for some reason in good lighting conditions, the shots still almost look HD. Also, for every obscure movie I try to use, it turns out other people have seen it before. Is there anyone out there who can help me find German horror movies from the 1920s that no one has seen?
Furthermore, I know the only real way to film rollerblading is by using a skateboard for follow shots. Do I need to be good at skateboarding to do this? Will people judge me because my skateboard is clean and unscratched (even though it's just to film with, not to do tricks on)?
Are there any Black Sabbath or Pentagram songs left that haven't already been used?
If I film a guy land a trick, and he looks excited about it, does the trick still count? I really like the "I landed a trick, now I'm rolling away, which is a good time to start thinking about my dead dog" look people have after landing a gap to fast tap the fishtail in a gritty southern state look.

                                      Thanks guys.
